Kristen Walks for Rice
Hi family & friends!
With the surge in media attention on hate crimes against our Asian American & Pacific Islander elders, I'd like to do something material to support and care for this group. One way I've been shown love and hospitality by my Korean elders is through food, specifically fruit. (see: https://www.tastecooking.com/bowl-cut-fruits-asian-moms-say-love/). Here in Seattle, the Asian Counseling & Referral Service provides culturally specific resources to the AAPI community, including a food bank with resources for folks to make foods that they love with ingredients that are familiar (Yes, rice among them).
I'd like to reach a goal of $750 by the end of April, and I'm including the following promises to generous donors:
$10-90: I'll walk a mile for each increment of $20 donated at this level.
$91-150: I'll hand select & deliver (no contact ofc) a fruit gift basket to your home, within 40 miles of Seattle, at this level. If you live out of state, I'll send you some of my favorite dried fruits in the mail.
$150+: You'll get fruit delivered, same as the previous level, and I will watercolor blank greeting cards and bookmarks for you as well!
Thanks for your support, and please look out for our AAPI elders now & always.
