What is Walk for Rice?
Walk for Rice is a fundraising event to support the ACRS Food Bank. Each year, nearly 1,000 participants help raise money for Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS). Funds help buy rice, noodles, bok choy, fresh herbs and other culturally familiar foods for the ACRS Food Bank.
Why is participating in the Walk important?
The Food Bank and Nutrition and Emergency Feeding Program help close the gap for many families who are choosing between paying their rent, purchasing prescription medication, and other expenses, keeping families healthy and whole.
Prompted by COVID-19, the ACRS Food Bank transformed its walk-in food bank into a food delivery system, reaching thousands from Seattle to Algona. With your support, the food bank is able to deliver over 2,250 grocery bags and 2,000 hot meals to residents across King County each week.
